SR22 insurance

Q: How do I make sure my license isn’t suspended again while I’m on SR22 insurance probation?

A: There are two things you need to do in order to keep your license intact: one is to make sure you keep your SR22 insurance coverage going, and the other is to stay out of trouble. If you get caught on the same offense as what you got hit with the SR22 insurance requirement for, you can kiss your driver’s license goodbye.

You can evade having your license suspended if you renew your SR22 insurance at least 45 days ahead of time. Even if you renew your insurance two weeks in advance, your SR22 insurance company has to notify the DMV if you don’t renew it within 15 days of the policy expiration date. If you renew your policy early, you won’t need to worry about being suspended.
